Stock type steel rocker arm question sb Chevy

what rpm are you guys turning with stock type steel rocker arms on a SB chevy? How much is to much?

i turn mine 7000 or so,..might wanta check the push rod cup for ware every now an then,.if it gets to ware'in thin it can shoot a rod threw end of rocker!! make sure there getting good oil flow!

7400 on a 383 with a moderate cam. Beehive springs. I don't think you can go crazy with spring pressures and have the rockers live though...ran them for 16 races with no problems.

Use a good set of of comp or as I did back in the stock rocker days I used crane. Still have them, turned 7000+ no prob. Just keep an eye on em you'll be ok.
