I have to send a 602 out for a rebuit at one of the track specified rebuilders. I do have a spare set of 602 speec heads with the correct pan. Problem is the block crank and rods are in more pieces than they should be. Is the 602 based on a production short block that I can buy locally? The rebuilds take a 50lb hit but are allowed to be bored 20 with a slight deck, cut crank, and resize on the rods. The heads are allowed a better spring and the manley stock replacement valvetrain. Don't want to pick up a whole 602 when essentially I am going to have everything remachined and a junkyard lower is cheaper. The 602 was only introduced here a couple years ago so supply is much less than demand. Thank you very much for any help to my ultra low budget attempt to put together another motor. Btw all casting numbers need to be correct.
