Ti valves?

Putting together an 18* motor for next season and the builder wants 1700 for a set of TI valves and 450 for steel my question is are they worth the extra 1300 and why or why not?

Depends upon the rpm you are wanting to run and if its a roller cam engine or not, if its flat tappet and you are not going to run over 7500 I wouldnt worry about putting titanium valves in, if your goin to run 7800 or more and or a roller camshaft the titanium might make a noticeable difference.

Also how big is the intake. You should feel the difference in a 2.18 steel valve vs. titanium. The higher the RPM, the lighter weight will help with controlling the valve train. We use titanium valves, keepers and locks. That is kind of high for the valves...IMO Are they Del West? Sometimes you can get used valves and have them cut to size fairly reasonable..

You aint runnin flat tappets with 18* heads cause lifters and rockers have to be offset
