    Vacuum Cam

    I am in need of a cam that can pull 18" at 1000rpm Does anyone make and off the shelf or do i need to have one custom ground? Any suggestions on a good place to make on if i do? Im running a 358 500cfm 4412, flat tops, 76cc heads completley stock, has to be hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters.

    I dont know where you are located. But we have the same vacuum rule here in south TN/North AL. Call a man named Ed Nix @ Nix Machine & Balance. He is a master at these cams and has some in stock. (931) 762-3977.

      Also on the engines we have build for vacume rules we run the dist. locked as you will create more vacume at max. advance. And we tend to stay with a single pattern cam as well.

        Keep the duration @.050 down below 235 and a 112 LC and you should be fine.
        With good rings/V-max lifters/good carb spacer etc. you might be able to run a little more but this should be safe.

            HVH and Flow Design 1" both work well with the HVH being a little better all around I believe
