Building a SBC for a WISSOTA midwest mod. My engine guy is suggesting a Streetfire MSD… not sure I want a Chi-Com dizzy on that motor. I'm thinking of using the billet MSD… any comments?

WISSOTA RULES…
Distributors. Stock O.E.M. distributors only. Billet distributors allowed. No multiple-spark
boxes. No magnetos or dual-point distributors allowed. Any coil used must fit in stock
cap and must use stock coil cover. Adaptacap allowed. GM H.E.I. Distributor can be
interchanged with Ford and Mopar engines.
So I guess a billet MSD would be ok but NOT the cheap Chi-Com since it's cast? Honestly I'm not a big fan of the HEI style dizzy but I guess that's what will be in the car.
Too bad I can't run a 1940's technology dual point… boy that would be a killer set-up… not.Member of the Luxemburg Speedway Hall of Fame

I know several who like the MSD caps and coils, MSD modules if you can. Rebuild your own dizzy and save money for tires instead,

I think that's what we will be doing. I asked a guy who does a lot of vintage hot rod stuff how much to have him redo an HEI… $380.00!!! I don't think so….Originally posted by Lizardracing View PostI know several who like the MSD caps and coils, MSD modules if you can.
