Help with rods

I need some help with rod choice. Im looking to spend about 300 on a set and I've found pro comp H beams, and I see the K1 I beams. What would be the better choice?

Procrap is bottom of the barrel, nothing that belongs in a race engine. Run. The Scat rods are good IMO.

check out ohio crank shaft. they make some good cranks an rods plus there american made. there really good priced also

K1 for the money is a good deal. Never had a failure with their crank or rods. (somebody knock on some wood for me)

I havn't ran any of Tom Molnars new stuff, but check with Molnar Technologies. Tom was the original owner of K1 before Wiseco bought him out. The K1 stuff was real nice for the money, and spot on for sizing.

im running the callies compstar rods in my 427 18 deg motor and im very happy with them I know there a little more but the abuse ive been putting too them and they are taking im more than happy with

Dyers Rods. Made 100% in the USA. Forged in Michigan from USA steel. They have a rod for every application and are great to deal with. They will take trade ins and sell used rod sets as well.

Sure you can talk about dyers, but your not gonna get a set for 300 bones. K1 is a good bet. Stay away from procomp anything.

thanx for all of the replies guys. I called dyers and your looking at about 900 for a used set. I think ill give Ohios rods a try.

k1 is the way to go! second would be scat with 7/16bolts

Competition Products sells some really nice RPM rods with 7/16 cap screws that I have used several times. They run about $389. 5.7 I beams and they only weight 560 grams. Nice rods for money. I went with 6" K-1 ultra lights this year. They are H-beam ultra lights with arp 2000 3/8 capscrews. 6" rod only weighs 500 grams. These ran me $519.

I hate to say it in such a way but is $200-300 savings worth possibly breaking a cheap rod in a 400? Callies and lunati make a good rod for couple hundred more especially if you are spending $500 as it is. Just an observation.

don't make them that light , was looking for light stuff, pistons are only like 355 grams
