Port matching intake to heads

Port matching intake to heads. My current factory quadrajet cast iron intake uses a 1205 gasket, the new heads I got call for a 1206. Is it important to match the ports of this manifold to the heads?


Part of me thinks it won't matter a bit, and bolt it on with the 1206 and be done with it........

I wouldn't grind the manifold any bigger probly do more harm than good as long as the ports in the heads are bigger than the manifold that is all that really matters. Actually the ledge you will have with the manifold being smaller will prevent reversion impulses up the intake and to the carb.
