2bbl engine combo

what is the best combo ? im tossing this around. 4.155 bore 3.50 stroke. 6.125 rods good lightweight flat top pistons and crank. i have some dart iron eagle heads 64cc with 215 runners. going have them milled down and try to get 14.1 compression. idk if that possiable or not. i was really hoping for a 15.1 engine i dont know if that possiable with this combo. cam will be a solid flat tappett vic junior intake. curious what every ones thoughts are with this combo

For a restricted engine I would go longer stroke and small bore like a 383 or just a 355. Reason being a big bore short stroke engine likes to run higher rpm which the 2 barrel carb will not be efficient at. Where as an engine with a longer stroke would make more torque lower in the rpm range which will make your carburetor more efficient. That is just my opinion there is more than two ways to skin a cat.

always had great luck with a flat top 406 and angled milled heads to get about 14 to 1..

No less than a 3.75" stroke and no less than 14 to 1 compression.

I totally agree here. Big bore, short stroke is for high RPM, open motors, not an intake restricted one.

Long stroke, big bore (434) would be my choice, but you should have an aftermarket block, for sure.

4" stroke, 4.155" bore, 50cc heads, six inch rods, and flat top pistons will get you to slightly over 14:1 compression.

That combo does work! I ran 436 with 14.2 to 1 on a 4412.
