    Coil Blow up,

    It is wired up as listed from msd, although the coil blew up, So if anybody knows about this or it has happened to them, let me know, thanks

    what kind of coil are you using? If your using something like the Blaster 2 (red can MSD 8202) it is oil filled and has to be installed vertical or even with a slight lean towards the left side of the car (so when the car is in the turns in it straight vertical). If was installed laying down, the oil inside could of uncovered enough of the windings to get hot. The MSD HVC (black can MSD 8222) is an epoxy filled coil and can be mounted in any orientation. Without knowing what kind of coil you are using, I would say that it got to hot.

      I recently saw a defective tachometer burn up two coils. Disconnect the tach & run a few minutes & check for excessive heat.
