    Can't get 357 to run

I have a 357 cu in engine that I can't get to idle, or stay running.

It is a gm 350 block bored 40 over
Stock replacement pistons (8.7 to 1 compression)
    Stock Crank
Patriot Aluminum 215 cc/64 cc 2.02/1.60 new push rods
    .500 max lift valve springs
.420/.443 lift 270/280 duration hydraulic flat tappet cam (new cam and lifters)
    Scorpion 1.5 roller rockers
    Edelbrock victor jr intake
    Holley 750 4 barrel carb
    MSD ignition
    Good fuel pump

The engine will fire. It will run as long as you are pumping gas to it, as soon as you quit giving it gas, it burns what is left in the carb and shuts off. We thought the cam may have been too big so went to the smaller cam that is listed above, that wasn't it. Thought it may be the carb, switched those with a known good carb, that wasn't it. Any ideas??? We have the 112 octane gas still in the car from our big engine (it blew, we had this one in the garage, we were going to get some seat time with it) could that be causing the problem?? Anything to try would be a great help!!

Take a deep breath and go back to basics… timing, fuel pump pressure and volume, valve adjustment, float level, check for vacuum leaks, etc. It's usually something simple...

Couldn't find any vacuum leaks externally, could it be something internal? We used a felpro 2802 gasket kit to put it together, victor jr intakes call for a Felpro 1206 gasket, I believe the kit comes with something like the 1204 gasket, could this cause issues I can't see?

Fuel pump pressure is good and volume seems good, valves have been adjusted, and readjusted a couple of times trying to make sure that was right, float level I believe is good, couldn't get it to run with either of 2 proven good carbs we put on.

It does act like a vacuum leak though, it will not idle, will only run over ~3000 rpm.

Intake gaskets got it, went to the larger gaskets that it called for and it runs just right
