Bert Transmission Shifting Rods

I had some issues this weekend with bert, it sheared roll pin off for forward gear and pulled shift rod out, so like a dumba** I tried to push it back in to get it to the feature, got trans out going to attempt overhaul, I can't get the shift rods out of it. I am sure with a hammer and vise grips and enough pounding it will come out, but the hammer is what got me into this mess. While I have it out I have ordered new clutches(kit) and will probably be ordering some more pieces. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

There is an allen head screw in the top of the case by the vent that needs to come out to get the shift rods out. There are shift detent springs and balls in there, along with a shift interlock pin. If you've never worked on one, I would advise you to take it to someone who has. Good luck
