Many people make good carbs , I consider Karsten Blume at KB carbs to be the best especially with tech support. The larger your venturis are the less responsive the carb will be but bigger venturis make more power at high rpm. Braswell loves selling carbs that are way too big

I have a willies carb. that has been a great cars and they have good support as well. The carb I have is a custom built carb. (1 of 2 built) and once I told him what it was he knew right away and got me set up. the car starts right up no cranking over and over and the throttle response is great. This is one of those carbs you keep until you give up racing it's that good.

I've dynoed alot of carbs. Some motors like certain carbs better even after adjusting every thing. The quickfuel carbs are the best bang for the buck that I have found. The best thing to do would be to take the money that you save with the quickfuel and dyno the motor with somebody that knows how to tune carbs.

It's good to keep in mind that dyno testing is good for tuning but it doesn't tell you everything about what it'll do on the track. Throttle response and drivability come to mind. Also, 2 carbs of the same size can can be "tuned" to the same A/F numbers but will be different in power output. IMO a good, well built, quality carburetor from someone like JDR, Braswell, BLP, Stealth, KB or Willys is better and actually cheaper in the long run if you put any value on your time or want to be able to sell it sometime. The "cheap" carbs are in poor shape after a year and there's a good chance you'll fight with it the entire time or hurt the motor. JMOLast edited by 50j; 01-26-2015, 07:18 AM.
