If you are talking about the one with dual idler gears I wouldnt use them in a race engine most of them are not recommended for use above 7000 rpm a good double roller chain or belt drive if you want would be better in my opinion.
both my mod engines have gear drive one is a Pete Jackson the other has a Muldoon single idler style gear drive that one requires more work to clear the cover just space the water pump out some and set pullies up to match.
Unless your running a sprint car with several cam driven accessories, dry sump, fuel pump, power steering pump, and a magneto, that adds up to alot of stress...just run a quality timing chain with a silver Iwis chain...you don't want the cheap black or gray chain.
