Can tool steel lifters be reused on new camshafts?

I've seen a lobe get wiped because the owner didn't know how to adjust the valves and the lifter looked new..still had a crown..I would check them all for a crown and if good I wouldn't sweat them one bit...

you can have them re-surfaced also

they guy who started this place used to resurface my lifters all the time and we also used to have him build "special " cams for us many years ago. I believe his son now runs it (?)

Yes, you can re use tool steel, they don't get a cam pattern worn into them.
