street stock exhaust manifolds

I learned something at my track last week and cant seem to find any info. We had a guy have a d port exhaust manifold that is not a lt1. It was said to come off of a chevy vortex in an newer impala and they deemed them legal cause their not the lt1 manifold. Is there such a thing and if there is could someone shed some info my way so I could find
