Wow, I'm ashamed to admit that I wasn't aware that Larson had won at Michigan. We've been so busy getting ready to head to Du Quoin that we didn't pay a bit of attention to what was going on with the open wheel dirt drivers in NASCAR. WAY TO GO KYLE!!! You've finally got the monkey off you're back. Hopefully the wins will come a bit easier and will come on a regular basis from now on!! It's ironic that it lacks just a week of being 5 years to the day that Kyle Larson got his first USAC Silver Crown win at Du Quoin in the Ted Horn Memorial 100 and he and Bryan Clauson put on a show for the ages in the opening stages of that race.

On another note, last nights' Texas Indy Car race was some of the best racing we've seen since the 2013 Indy 500. Graham Rahal literally stole one from Hinch! Rahal won by .008 of second in the closest finish in Texas Motor Speedway history and the 5th closest finish in Indy Car history! It's really a shame that the Texas Indy Car race doesn't get any more exposure than it does because it's as good as racing of any kind gets!! And that's a fact.

I didn't know Kyle gave tribute to BC. Thanks guys for passing that along.

BC was to be married next February and Kyle's son was to be ring bearer. They were very close.

Great weekend for "First Timers"... Road course race was awesome, but Michigan is always kind of a snoozer threw the middle but the Trucks with Moffits outside pass and Kyle Larson with his inside pass certainly made the last few laps interesting .... The road course win was probably my favorite because McDowell has never had really good equipment and has always had to settle... this time top notch equipment and he got them a win...

Great to see Larson finally get the W. He's been so close, hard to believe it took 99 races. The fans ate up the steering wheel out the window. Wonder if NASCAR will do anything. I remember them telling him not to do it after the last time. Think it was a truck race.

It was following his first Xfinity victory at Fontana, California that NASCAR was unhappy with him removing his steering wheel and doing donuts.

Despite the silly gimmicks it really was great to see an open wheel dirt driver get his first Cup win. He added to the NASCAR Cup legacy that open wheel dirt drivers like A.J., Mario, Schrader, Gordon, Stewart, Newman, Kahne, Edwards and now Larson, among several others, have been contributing to for decades. Some of the greatest drivers in the world have made made their bones in dirt track open wheel racing and Larson is just the latest in a long line!!

On a report at www.jayski.com NASCAR has stated they have no problem with Larson's post race celebration this past weekend.
IMO in the Monday morning post race meeting or driver owner conference call with NASCAR i'd bet it was strongly urged that it doesn't happen again....

I agree. They took a pass because Kyle was a first time winner. However, no doubt the message was sent loud and clear. We will see what happens after the Darlington race. Personally, i am not a fan of the drivers destroying their cars after they win. I am thinking about the guys at the shop who work so hard to get the cars right. If a guys has a great race car, why would he want to destroy it anyway? Makes no sense to me, but hey, what do I know? LOL

Because I record everything, I never see it unless I want to and generally, I don't... It is stupid to trash the car, after all, its what got you there!
