Finally something remotely intelligent from you, litey. You are absolutely correct, it is a huge shame that more people don't show up for the Texas races. The Texas Indy Car race and the Chicagoland race are/were the most exciting racing you'll ever see regardless of genre' of car or sanction.Originally posted by old fan View Postshame real shame not much a crowd
What is even more incredible about the Texas race Saturday night, all that action took place at speeds of 220+ mph!! NASCAR eat your heart out. I have never seen a Cup race with that much action among 4 cars traveling that fast and I've been to a lot of Cup races!!

apples and oranges cirf the biggest problem with indy car not many American drivers in the series I it doesn't have to be from sprints etc eitherOriginally posted by CIRF View PostFinally something remotely intelligent from you, litey. Better than the Texas Indy Car race? I don't think so, and I doubt you you do either, if truth be known. Taxi cabs aren't capable of racing like what we saw at Texas. The are inherently big, cumbersome and unable to manuever in ways to put on a show like the Texas Indy Car race. Preferences are one thing, to downplay because of blatant tunnel vision some of the best racing anyone has ever seen is quite another.Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostIts OK, but I think Moffit's win was better...JMO don't anyone get their knickers in a knot..
Knickers? What are knickers and why would they be in a knot?

I was on the edge of my seat watching. It really is incredible, and incredibly dangerous, to see those guys running that close at those speeds.
There is a reason it's called the Injury Racing League. Guys get messed up all the time in that series.

I think what it is for me is the vehicle... They don't look like cars, I like sprints OK, but rarely go and watch them unless that's the only game in town, then I might go... DLM's to Trucks to Xfinity to cup, heck even Mods at least resemble a car... maybe that's it... and as far as the competition aspect, heck, even goats can run a race , I wouldn't go and watch them either....

Oh God yes, what the cars look like make all the difference in the world in how entertaining they are! Said nobody with half a brain or more.
Compared to the Texas Indy Car race dirt late models are train races. They're very slow in comparison, too.
