As it should be. If you do asinine things you need to be soundly chastised no matter who you are.

pee wee jr. just catches much more flack due to the fact he's a little turtle necked Pee Wee Herman look alike, AKA an easy target! LOL!!

An ignoramus like yourself would have a hard time distinguishing the difference.

A lot of generic dirt late model guys have tried to win driving the "tanks" on the dirt miles. But none ever have. Must be more to it than you think! Wait! Do you think? LOL!!

Some care, they've tried their hand at it many times over the years, to no avail.

I've seen several ARCA guys do well enough at places like Springfield and Du Quoin to advance to a division of racing where you can make 131k in one race by running top 30. When was the last time a mud taxi driver gone on to race where you can make that kind of money? I'll answer that for you mr. ignoramus, NONE! LOL!!

But it's a pittance compared to what the big boys make in gimmickland. And I suspect $100,000.00 in basically a month probably is rather small compared to Indy Car and F1, as well.

By no means am I saying that Davenport's winnings are insignificant or not to be applauded but when put in it perspective with some other forms of racing a bit higher up the totem pole it somewhat pails in comparison.

The resident ignoramus' unintelligible attempts at demeaning and dismissing a stepping stone division that has served stock car racing very well over the years are mere drivel. ARCA stock car racing isn't ever going to make anyone rich. It has enjoyed a very long tenure by being a place for basically part time racers to economically compete in cars that are nearly identical to Cup cars. And also a stepping stone for young racers that are headed to greener pastures.

We very much enjoy watching Cup style racecars compete on dirt. Springfield and Du Quoin are the only places to see that happen. Many drivers that have gone on to successful NASCAR careers have found that Cup style cars on dirt aren't that easily mastered. I remember a young Davey Allison coming to Springfield and Du Quoin and didn't get the dirt figured out. Many others have as well. I, for one, enjoy watching drivers compete in situations that are out of their element and comfort zone. It proves adaptability and skill.

                      Sorry for the thread hi-jack.

I see the Chili Bowl only pays 10 Grand to win... I watched Davenport do that in one weekend, seven times over if I recall correctly (may have been more).... one weekend in that taxicab.... Midget racing for paupers? heck they had 300 entries didn't they? Should have been able to pay a crap load more then 10K... cheap bastards... I'll be retiring a couple hundred miles form there, maybe i'll check it out some time.... I think every WOO DLM race pays a minimum for 10G to win so does Lucus Oil... cheap bastard open wheel guys.... LOL

The Chili Bowl actually had 344 entries last January.

Your dirt late model inferiority complex is alive and well, isn't it!! LOL!!

Winning The Chili Bowl isn't about the money, it's about the prestige and national exposure of winning one of the 2 biggest dirt races of the year. They'd get 300 entries if it paid $100.00 to win because it's an event everyone aches to win. It can make a fledgling driver a household name and it can complete and complement a well known veteran drivers' resume'.

Winning that Golden Driller means a lot more than the winning purse. I'd wager that if truth be known guys like Kyle Larson, Kasey Kahn and Christopher Bell would try just as hard to win it if winning The Chili Bowl paid nothing but black eyes and a headache.

I dare say that if Davenport was completely truthful he'd trade a $100,000.00 late model win for the prestige and national exposure a Chili Bowl victory would give him. Heck, it might even get him a shot at NASCAR like it did Tim McCreadie. It's just that big of a deal. But he's gotta' win it first.
