Congratulations to Chase Briscoe, 2016 ARCA Champion and won the last race of the season at Kansas Speedway tonight.
Chase is from Mitchell, Indiana and broke Jeff Gordon's record for the youngest winner of a 410 wingless sprint car race at the ripe old age of 14. Chase raced on a shoe string budget but did more with less than about anyone while competing in the 410 sprinters. Love seeing guys like Chase do well. Gotta' think there is a good chance Chase will get a shot at NASCAR in the very near future.
On a side note, Chris Buescher, who is a former Xfinity champion and made it into the Cup chase this year said during the Kansas ARCA race that his most memorable and satisfying of his 10 ARCA wins was his victory on the dirt mile of Du Quoin, Illinois. The Du Quoin win stands out above wins at Salem, Michigan and Road America, among others. Must be something special about winning on the dirt in a Cup style stock car.
ARCA racing is not the pinnacle of full sized stock car competition, obviously NASCAR Cup is, but it's a grass roots working man's division that hasn't yet been poisoned by money and prima donna drivers and car owners.
