    Big Brown Dog

Hardest thing i've had to do was say good bye to my best friend for the last 15 years ... I knew it was coming but I kept hoping for more time ... I knew he had a tumor .... I could see his rear legs were going .... Monday 4am I let him out for the last time ... I heard him fall & I knew he wasn't getting up this time ... I made some coffee and got my lawn chair than sat with him .... We both watched the sun come up together .... Mastif's don't usually make it to 15 ... He lived a good life .... RIP Sammy ...

Our stories go a little different but I feel for you, Bob. September 2, 2017 as I was about to leave for a southern all star race....plans changed. I opted to have the emergency vet help him to the other side as it was apparent that it was time. Easily the hardest day of my short 29 years. Stay strong buddy. Time.

Bob, that's breaks my heart for you and your dog and to all that knew him. There is not a harder thing to go through than losing a loved one, and animals just as well. I lost my best cat ever that was 15 years old also in January and it just makes you sick with going through it all and having to lose them out of your life. Maybe they return to us someday at another place, or at least I pray for that to be possible.

Anyone who says "it's just a dog" never had one or is a cold hearted sob.

Sorry I called you Ben, I used to play basketball with a Ben Hubbard. lol

Here is a song dedicated to you and your dog. Kind of appropriate in a way.

                And another.

Always a sad day when you have to put down your most loyal friend. I am on my 5th Doberman and she's getting to be 9, and that's old for a DOB. When that day comes I will say goodbye and be saddened, but I will make a good home for a new puppy. Training and working with your new friend helps with the healing and lose of your old friend.

I picked up sammy's ashes this week & his is back home once again .... We got 3 letters from different animal hospitals sammy visited over the years .... I'm not sure how they all knew but it was nice of them to take the time ... One wrote he had a Big Head and a Big heart .... The house is quiet now but at least hes home .... Dog / Pet owners know what I mean ... My retirement & plans for travel has me waiting on another one for the time being ....
