You listen to lying hacks and think that's integrity???? Breitbart is actually a ton better than anything you watch or read. And you are gullible enough to believe all that trash, lies, and garbage.Originally posted by mcarter815 View PostI'll take decades of journalist integrity over Breitbart any day. Ugh, this garbage site? You do know that they have had to pull multiple articles down because they were 100% wrong and the owner was sued for defamation after incorrectly identifying a killer, right?Originally posted by dirtdobber45 View PostWell did they tell you that Trumps WINNING.. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/201...creased-by-40/
Well, to start with the author does use a valid source, so that's good, and he's using Real GDP, which is also good because it includes foreign trade. That's the only good thing I can say, though. Describing quarterly growth of 3.5% as "whopping" is an overstatement. Q1 and Q2 for 2015 were 3.3% so it's about the same as it was under Obama. Not only that, but if you look at 2014, Q2 and Q3 were at 5.1% and 4.9% respectively. Trump has not had a quarter anywhere close to that yet and the bump from the tax cuts is pretty much done. If you listen in to recent corporate quarterly earnings reports, companies have switched from talking about the impact of the tax cuts to now the impact of the tariffs.Originally posted by GatewayPunditThe US GDP for the third quarter was reported at a whopping 3.5% under the leadership of President Donald Trump. This was another BIG Trump win which doubles the first quarter growth of 2.2%.
President Obama never reached an annual GDP Growth rate of more than 3.0%. No President over the past century had not ever been held to GDP growth rates of less than 3.0% until Obama.
Secondly, his first paragraph is talking about quarterly Real GDP growth for Trump and then compares it to Annual Real GDP growth under Obama. He's comparing apples to oranges and saying that the oranges aren't nearly as red as the apples. If he wants to compare annual Real GDP growth, Trump's first year was 2.2%, which is on par with the past 8 years.
These figures come from the same site he links to in his article.
If you look at the chart of Debt to GPD over the past 8 years you can see it quickly rise in the first half of Obama's presidency as the government reacted to the Great Recession, but it has mostly leveled off since Q1 2013. The article is right that the ratio was 105.3% at the time Obama left office, but it leaves out the fact that it dropped to 99.02% in Q3 2015. We haven't seen lower than 102.5% since Trump took office.Originally posted by GatewayPunditWhen comparing the amount of US Debt from the government’s daily report of debt to the amount of GDP from the current GDP release, the amount of debt to GDP is decreasing under President Trump (a good thing).
The ratio of debt to GDP is decreasing drastically – from 105.3% when Obama was President to 104.1% since the election!
Deficit to GDP got as high as 8.3% in 2011 but has been trending down since then. It got as low as 2.7% and 2.4% in 2014 and 2015 respectively. It climbed slightly in 2016 and 2017 with 3.1% and 3.4%.

I got those numbers off of the government's websites. Hell, the Real GDP numbers came from the exact same data that the article was referencing. If the numbers are good enough for that article, then they must be good enough for me to use.
