And notice that story is from April 2008. The cost is probably much higher now, if for no other reason the simple fact that health care cost are higher, not to mention the fact there are many more coming now. Who knows what the cost is now. Also you won't see the media reporting stories like this now. My guess is this was back when many democrates, like Obama and Harry Reid were claiming to want to curtail immigration. There's no way they would dare print a story like that nowadays, especially with the election in a couple of days, a caravan coming, and Trump proposing to challenge the idea of birthright citizenship. That shows you the kind of bias and prejudice that exists in the media and the danger it presents to our society.
