In 1912 all immigrants needed to get into the United States was $50 and the ability to pass a health exam.

Also, I'm fairly certain they probably received very few or no benefits like Welfare, WIC, etc, at the expense of taxpayers back then. Very few Social programs to redistribute wealth existed in those days, even Social Security and Medicare didn't come along until many years later, in the 1930s. So, those immigrants not only paid that amount and passed the physical, they also had to fully support themselves and not be a financial burden on the tax paying public.

Anyway, perhaps you have a good idea there. Charge them an entry fee of $1301.23, make them pass a health exam and background check, and then have them sign an enforceable agreement to receive No government benefits for at least 10 years. This would probably remove the incentive for many of the people in these "caravans" and would ensure that only those who are willing to support themselves and bring something to the table themselves would come.

On Sunday Fox News and Fox Business announced they had banned frequent guest Chris Farrell for making false accusations against Jewish billionaire and Democrat donor George Soros this past week on “Lou Dobbs Tonight.” On the Thursday broadcast, Farrell accused Soros of funding the migrant caravan that left Honduras earlier this month and is currently traveling through Mexico toward the U.S. border.

FOX is not allowing Dobbs to air that. FOX is not as fair and balanced as they pretend to be.
