This interesting prayer was given in Kansas, USA, at the opening session of their Senate. It
seems prayer still upsets some people.
When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities,
but this is what they heard:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says: "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done.
* We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
* We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
* We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
* We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
* We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
* We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
* We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
* We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
* We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
* We have abused power and called it politics.
* We have embezzled public funds and called it essential expenses.
* We have insitutionalised bribery and called it sweets of office.
* We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
*We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
* We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh GOD, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.
In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls
responding negatively.
The church is now receiving international requests for copies of
this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.
With the LORD'S help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and WHOLEHEARTEDLY become our desire so that we again can be
called "ONE NATION UNDER GOD."

Think about this: If you forward this prayer to everyone on your list, in less than 30 days it would be heard by the world. How many people

The only thing that one might want to have an argument with is the one that reads { We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable }. Look of all of the Innocent lives that were potentially saved through the compassion for life that the shooter must have felt when he decided to kill somebody that in GODs eyes, true Christians eyes, and right thinking voters with a true belief in the BIBLE eyes that the life taking abortionist was nothing more that a murdering killer. Nothing more nothing less ! If that truly happens to someone, they will see the error of their ways. We are all sinners. I cannot stand the liberal agenda and neither can the Lord. Man's wisdom is foolishness to the Lord 1st Corinthians chapter one is an example. However we are all sinners and without Christ we would be doomed too. No one deserves God's grace, so we should all make sure we share it with as many people as possible.
Despise the sin, have mercy and try to help the sinner. Not always easy to do, but it is an absolute demand in scripture, so it is what should be done. One on one, the spirit makes it easy for a believer to do, if the believer is willing. I should watch what I say on political threads, but obviously I don't.

Well said.......The world thinks we are supposed to be perfect because we are Christians. We're Christians because we KNOW we're not perfect.Thats why I tell people to read the Bible and see where we're coming from, but they usually don't. They think Christianity is a bunch of "don't do's" when in fact, its just the opposite. Its far more do's!

The frustrating part for me is the liberals anti-God stance on everything.They claim tolerance but we know, they're far from it. I don't need their tolerance, they need our Jesus! But, they don't believe in personal responsibility and cant accept Gods free gift for them!
