Oath or not, I’d lean towards believing the President.Originally posted by ss12 View PostWho would you believe and a man who is willing to testify under oath or a man who will not?
Kelly believes Bolton, I don’t believe Kelly or Bolton.Originally posted by ss12 View PostJohn Kelly believes Bolton and not Trump
Personally, I don’t think it’s a “Trump testify†issue in-hand. I think its 1. more to the point that Trump has a legal team representing him, and 2. it’s the chosen legal path in an impeachment, in this situation. The House had plenty of opportunity to call witnesses and they choose not too. That my friend falls directly on them. As does withdrawing the Bolton subpoena. The Democrats made the case they wanted to make in the House, and the Trump’s legal team will make their case in the Senate. If you heard Schiff’s statement today on why they (Democrats) didn’t call witnesses in the House inquiry, it was very obvious of the agenda of why. The crux of it, the Democrats wanted to have him impeached before the 2020 election.Originally posted by ss12 View Post“Trump testifyâ€
That’s just anti- Trump hatred, plain and simple.Originally posted by ss12 View PostAnd by the way as of 12-16-19 Trump has told 15,413 lies.
President Obama lied almost daily about his health care proposal, promising, “If you like your health care plan you’ll be able to keep your health care plan.†That lie helped secure the passage of Obamacare and compelled four million Americans to seek another health care plan.https://www.heritage.org/conservatis...mp-look-honestTrump is not guilty of any lie, falsehood, fabrication, false claim, or toxic exaggeration that equals the lies of one past president whose Alamo-sized ego caused the deaths of thousands of Americans and another chief executive who denied his serial adultery. Most Americans can see the difference between an out-and-out lie and self-evident hyperbole, even if the mainstream press and Trump’s political opponents cannot or will not.

Sure it is.Originally posted by ss12 View PostExecutive privilege is not a get out of jail free card.
The Obama administration asserted executive privilege in June 2012 in response to a House investigation of Operation Fast and Furious, a controversial “gunwalking†operation in which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed the running of guns in hopes that they could be tracked to Mexican drug cartel figures.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) demanded documents relating to the Justice Department’s response to the operation, which Attorney General Eric Holder refused to provide.
The committee voted 23-17 to hold Holder in contempt of Congress for his failure to release the documents, with the full chamber voting in favor of contempt 255-67.
The Justice Department cited executive privilege again to decline to prosecute him on the contempt charge.
Nearly four years later, District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled against Obama’s assertion of executive privilege, writing that existing disclosures relating to the operation cast doubt on the idea that the documents at issue must remain confidential.
"The Department itself has already publicly revealed the sum and substance of the very material it is now seeking to withhold,†she wrote. “Since any harm that would flow from the disclosures sought here would be merely incremental, the records must be produced."
The administration turned over the records in April 2016..

I look at politics reasonably and unbiased, I think. And I try to eliminate the preconceived prejudice or notions on both sides. Understand, I’m not a big Trump thumper as it might appear. I am on the other hand a fair and balanced political opinion person. I also vet most everything politically that I can. Without doing so, a person can not form their own INDEPENDENT decision and think for themselves. Too many people listen to just main stream media talking points, believe it, then parrot them as fact - until someone else believes them, and on and on. I genuinely try to be a self thinker, and nothing more. If its BS, I’ll call it out, either side, as I have with brainless GW Bush and Obama ignorance right on this forum.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostLurker
Do I like everything Trump does? No. Do I like his brash and almost abrasive demeanor? Yes. I think his no nonsense approach is refreshing in the world today --- and much needed in politics.
Take the first article of impeachment for instance, where I agree with Trump, think the article is groundless and disagree with someone like ss12. Personally, I think Trump was well within his Presidential powers to ask “they way he did†for Hunter Biden and Joe Biden to be looked into, Ukraine / Burisma - knowing good and well Joe Biden is on record, on video, clear evidence, committing an impeachable quid pro quo. Yet, Trump is the one on trial. Total hypocrites, steering a Coup D’etat witch-hunt, and nothing more. As well, some of the Democrat ulterior motives are very totalitarian in this case, in my opinion.
In the end, (as you’ve stated already) the Democrats have completely diminished the core foundations of the founders Constitution in regards to impeachment, and impeachable offences. Now cue up Metallica’s, Sad But True.Last edited by lurker; 01-29-2020, 12:22 AM.

The following was brought up yesterday by Trump’s Senate legal team, that being -
Obama’s hot mic Russian quid pro quo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mgQaFlo_p8
Biden’s open mic Ukraine quid pro quo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MySaVMV7dAo
You got me thinking again, so please give me a little latitude on this. You said,Originally posted by ss12 View Post----
Now then, let me change a few words in your quote.Originally posted by ss12 View PostTrump will go down in history as being an impeached president. It doesn't really matter what the senate does, history has been made.
Obama will go down in history as being an president that should have been impeached. It doesn't really matter if the House didn’t have the votes, history has been made.Fare enough?Biden will go down in history as being a vice president that should have been impeached. It doesn't really matter if the House didn’t have the votes, history has been made.
White House Lawyer: Where were Democrats when Obama engaged in quid pro quo with Russia? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXQah1gOdY0
Now then, where was the Democrats outrage with Obama and Biden? Where was Nadler, Pelosi, Schiff and the rest gang? Where was their outrage?

The reasoning why I posed my question and included ss12’s quote, is -- the way I’ve read his past posts regarding the constitution, constructional law, and its application in impeachment, is, he seems rather versed constitutional wise when he posts -- and I thought he might possibly agree with my opinion that Obama and Biden should have been impeached -- all based on the merits of my presentation, and the merits of ss12’s own previous posts that Trump should be impeached, abuse of power wise. Its not a gotch’a moment, just a point of discussion and debate.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View Post----
(Side note: As I type this, Schiff just skirted the same exact Obama and Biden point I was making, in his response to the Senators asking questions. Completely diverted the question and his answer. So sad.)

I know it's not a gotcha moment for most normal folks , but for cleopatra the queen of denial it's a gotcha moment on every single one of his posts citing constitutional law and what the framers meant when they wrote what they wrote.
But in his mind, the Biden and Obama examples don't count.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????
