A favor for whom? Himself or his country? The way I see it, The president, whomever he may be at the time, is representing the American people when he speaks with foreign leader. Asking a foreign leader to look into a corruption investigation that was squelched by a former administration is IN THE INTEREST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. So, Trump was asking for a favor on own behalf. Ask anyone who voted for Trump this question, I think most of them feel the same way. So, Trump is not asking for a personal favor at all. He's asking for a favor for the country as a whole. There is nothing illegal about that. And again, if we've gotten to the point where some people think that's wrong, then it truly demonstrates how immoral our government and the news media has become.

And the transcript of the phone call supports this. When Trump mentions the Biden incident, he immediately follows with the phrase "a lot of people want to know about this". That's shows it's not a personal request. "A lot of people wanting to know" is not a personal favor.
