Is it me or is there much less top talent in the Cup series now than we have EVER seen? I will emphasize TOP talent. We have Harvick, Kyle Busch, Logano, Kesolowski, Truex at the top then you got Hamlin, Elliott, Eric Jones .. then basically nothing for talent after thatA few like Chastain and DiBenedetto have talent but haven’t had the ride yet to show it.

Don't worry there will be plenty of talent there tomorrow. Trump and company are going to take motorcade around the track before the Daytona 500.Haters don't really hate you, in fact they hate themselves because you are a reflection of what they wish to be.

This isn't intended to be a jab at you Rajflyboy, and I don't wish to hijack this thread because it's a very legit question Rajflyboy raises, but does anyone really pay any attention to NASCAR anymore. We've been in Florida for the dirt racing since February 7th and there is no banter in the bars & restaurants or even at the dirt tracks about what is going on at Daytona. We heard on the radio that the Daytona 500 is sold out. I was amazed! We caught a glimpse of the crowds during the tv highlights for the Busch Clash, Twin Qualifiers and the Saturday 300 miler and the crowds were a mere fraction of what I remember from the 80's and 90's when we attended all the races during Speedweeks at Daytona. We all know the different reasons why this has happened but the relevance has completely gone away.

It's only sold out because they took out tons of grandstands on the backstretch.Originally posted by CIRF View PostThis isn't intended to be a jab at you Rajflyboy, and I don't wish to hijack this thread because it's a very legit question Rajflyboy raises, but does anyone really pay any attention to NASCAR anymore. Another nascar debacle today at Daytona. Put rain tires on the cars and make these teenagers run (use the bus stop on the back stretch when it rains). You’d probably see the fan interest increase a little bit. 24 hour cars run the banking in the rain (don’t tell me these snot nosed 18 year olds can’t run in the rain) Ok I will shut my mouth now.

That is fine. If you don't like it anymore, you have every right to stop watching it. Millions of people still do watch, though. Nascar has some things that need to be changed. However it seems like some people are rooting for its demise. Look at Indy car, a series I also like. They have real problems too. Race fans should hope all forms of racing succeed whether they enjoy watching them or not. IMO
