I must admit to being way off base on this one. Many of us including myself were still highly invested and interested in NASCAR At the time Earnhardt Jr. was beginning to make his way up the ladder. I pretty much dismissed him as being just another silver spooner. I do believe he had a little help from NASCAR from time to time but not nearly to the degree his old man was taken care of.
Didn't really take much stock in Earnhardt Jr.'s off track style and demeanor. After a while I began to realize DEJ was a very nice and unassuming young man with manners and class which are virtues that are becoming increasingly rare. I believe this came from his time in military school and it has paid huge dividends for him. He also was a better than average driver especially on the RP tracks.
During this period of quarantine I would suggest watching as many of DEJ's television shows as you can find. They are of very high quality. DEJ and his sidekick do a great job with the guest interview's that make up these shows. The best ones I've seen to date are Kenny Schrader, Ricky Rudd and John Force. I was always a big Ricky Rudd fan and he pretty much confirms what many of us knew for a long time that NASCAR was deeply in the pocket of arnhead and just how much of a backstabber ol' arnhead could be. Ricky was around from the beginning and saw it all.
Check 'em out, they are all very good and worth an hour of your time whether you are or aren't a NASCAR fan.
