The food system is breaking down due to the closing of processing facilities. Pork processing is down a full 20% and beef processing is down 25 to 30%. Haven't found any numbers on chicken processing but reports show that there will be millions of chickens killed very soon.

This is a situation that will cause violent chaos. When people get hungry they don't give a dam how they get food or who they infect with a virus to get it. This has the potential to trigger some extremely bad things to happen.

It's only a matter of time before the virus adversely affects produce production.

Well folks, it could easily get very scary and a rough ride is in the making. I hope everyone has some personal protection available because many of us could be forced to use it!

Darn TOOTIN ! ! No offense to King Petty, but we haven't used Smithfield products ever since the news that they were bought by China. The long term plan was that livestock was to be raised and butchered in China and then sent to the U.S. ! I can just see the hogs being fed pure unsorted garbage with dead animals, anti freeze, feces, and whatever without any kind of restrictions .

There isn't a whole lot of information regarding the impending breakdown of the food supply being disseminated by the media, at all. We have no way of knowing if they (the media) do not deem this food situation as worthy of more coverage or if there is governmental pressure to soft peddle this impending crisis so the beginnings of widespread panic doesn't rear it's ugly head.

It's not difficult to see what STRONGER says could have at least some degree of merit in reference to China unleashing this virus. I usually don't take much stock in fringe conspiracies but given the manner in which China has done things in the past it warrants at least some consideration. One thing is irrefutable, China is enjoying what is happening in the west with the collapse of the U.S. economy being the most satisfying to them.

Human life is way down on the list of concerns of which China holds any regard. There is little doubt that China's economic, political and military dominance far outweighs any concerns with loss of human life, whether it be the lives of those in countries around the world or the lives of their own people.

We're not at the point where we should dive head first into the China conspiracy tank but it is certainly food for thought and scrutiny.

The good news is that you don't need meat to survive. Even though I love a good steak or burger, I can get by with plant based proteins.
