You choose to believe there isn't any or just to deny it. Which is it.

Maybe you're not looking or Google, Yahoo, Fakebook, Twitter, and the news networks are censoring it all and you don't even realize it???

Maybe just all of the above and more, such as that "D" stenciled on your forehead!!!

That is quickly changing. The former Californians I know have moved because of traffic, garbage in the streets, tent cities, over-regulation of business and a lack of workforce because people can make almost as much money sitting on the couch as they do working. Productive people are bailing out. Parasites don't pay taxes. The infrastructure is worse all the time and there isn't money to repair it.

BTW, Texans aren't happy about Californains fleeing the results of liberal policy and bringing that idealism with them. It's senseless but par for the course.

High housing costs in California are a result of over regulation and greed......have you been lately, or ever?
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

I have been to the LA area in each of the last two years. What regulations make a 1970s house in LA three or four times as expensive as a 1970s house in Iowa?

People aren't forced to buy them. They choose to buy those houses instead of moving to a cheaper state.

Dam yer dumb.....you put a coastline a mild climate and elect a bunch of socialist driven officials in the Midwest and watch people flock there......your people.

California city housing prices ( like new Yorks)are ridiculous......move out to the country and its much more median to the Midwest or most anywhere else in the US.

Taxes mostly......then permits to upgrade that 70s house to current code before you can move in, cost of water due to regulatory nonsense, cost of electricity for the same reason.....but mostly taxes.

Nope. I am talking about the prices they are listed for. None of those are included in the price on a real estate site

What I'm saying is that the folks complaining about high housing costs in the metro California cities should move out of the city and into the burbs and /or the countryside of california( of which there is more of than almost every state except Texas.)

I think the phrase you used was " they aren't forced to buy there" in those expensive areas.

Sux getting your own words used against you so effectively doesn't it?

I'm guessing you don't own a house or have never bought and sold any but you do realize that you roll any extra spend you have made on upgrades or fixes to the house before it's sold into the price when you sell it.....right?

The regulatory nonsense is an overburden and has driven up the cost of a 1970 built house to ridiculous levels in California.

Even if you find one in the country and outside the city at a nice Midwest price, by the time you do what the state wants to bring it to code it's added minimum 25% to what you have in the house.....all that gets passed on every time it's sold.

If people weren't willing to buy at those prices, they wouldn't be sold at those prices. Instead, homeowners would be forced to take a loss on the house and the prices would be lower.
