If they want to make a middle of the road (or swamp) home for Liz Cheney, Ben Sasse, Mittens Romney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and that ilk, have at it. Take the Lincoln Project "dudes" along with you please. Maybe Bill Kristol will write all kinds of great things about scruples and losing with dignity. The only thing they'll have going for them is that they might still have Twitter accounts because they'll never say anything bad enough about libs and lib policies to get kicked off. If this is really what they want - well then, bye.
But this is just another story and it will fizzle just like the one about Trump starting a Patriot Party. More likely is that Trump survives this joke of impeachment as most rational thinking people know he will. Yeah, they'll keep trying to cut him off media and social media but he will find his voice and make it heard. Every time a detail which supports his claims gets exposed - see I told you so. Every time the Zhoe Xiden crew messes up - see I told you so.
Deep down inside, the left wants him, they need him, the media is lost without him to bash. You think they'll want to actually try to cover a feeble puppet governing from the onset of senility. Trump drove ratings, they live on ratings and he'll remain public, smirking and crowing every chance he gets, "So, ya miss me yet?"
The best thing he could do, as he finds his stage, is to support difference making candidates. He'll show up and hold rallies and be a fundraising machine. These 100-120 Republicans who may have been on that Zoom call, some of them might be looking at primary challengers backed by you know who. They are scared of him, almost as much as the Dems are still scared of him. That's why this whole project of getting America scared of we in the - potential terrorist gaslighting project - has to continue for them.
