General Flynn was originally part of the Obama admin when he was Director of the Defense Intel Agency. During that time his unvarnished truths bumped up against those of the other alphabet soup agencies (CIA, NSA, etc.) advising the admin. There are those who know "what" the boss wants to hear and Flynn was not that guy. He spoke truths about what the boss "needed" to hear in regards to Iran and ISIS. Obama, and now Xiden, are definitely more pro-Iran than certainly Trump and previous administrations. Obama wanted badly to get the deal done with Iran (JCPOA) and Flynn was a voice against trusting Iran and their nuclear ambitions. That was strike one.
The other thing Obama's admin did was try to downplay a resurgent ISIS. Remember the comments about the JV team? Well, Flynn also spoke of how wrong they were about that. That was strike two. Flynn was out in 2014 and went on his own.
While out on his own and giving speeches and TV appearances he said things which made his continued unpopularity with Obama that much more profound. When he signed on as an advisor to the Trump campaign, that was strike three.
The Obama admin could not have a guy with his amount of insider knowledge of their own administration now working for the other side. The destruction of Michael Flynn had to begin, and it did.
They tried to paint Flynn as something of an agent, or friend of the Kremlin. At a get-together at Cambridge University he was in attendance along with former MI-6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove, and a name that has shown up time and again in the Russia Collusion hoax, Stephan Halper. At that meeting was a Russian born historian (English citizen) Svetlana Lohkova. They tried to paint her as a "honeypot" who was getting to Flynn. The story was outrageous and she sued for her reputation in regards to the story, the fabrication. But this was one of the first attempts to get at Flynn.
Now think about it. This guy was a three-star general with 33 years of service. Don't you think if any of the BS you've been fed about this guy somehow being a Russian agent was true it wouldn't be like one of the biggest stories of the decade? This is the stuff of a John LeCarre or Tom Clancy novel. Were talking another Aldridge Ames, or Kim Philby here! But no, this wasn't that BIG story because even the main stream press knew. This was smear job plain and simple and it was smear job engineered at the highest levels of Team Obama. Part of this smear job was to take focus away from Hillary's e-mail server, part of it to go after Trump.
So yeah, that was (and is) a sad situation. It was sad situation that people like Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and others had to go after Flynn to trip him up over details in regards to a perfectly appropriate conversation with Kislyak. Conversations that guys like John Kerry have with Iranians when he's (Kerry) giving secret details about Israeli operations in Syria. Only Flynn didn't give secret info to Kislyak. He was set up and tripped up by the cleverness of Comey and some FBI agents. Comey bragged about it, laughed about it. Yup, a sad situation. Comey, a guy who under oath can't remember, can't recall, has no recollection of so many things, yet has enough remembrance to write a couple books.
Who would have thought you'd need a lawyer present to speak with someone in the same government, the same administration, someone you'd regard as being on the same team? But he did have that conversation with those agents and he didn't have a lawyer and they screwed him. So yeah, that was a mistake on his part and he should have known better. Flynn is a sad situation. I admire his significant military background. But Trump blessed him with power and notoriety and he didn’t handle it well. One thing in this cut and paste (Buford’s best creative ability) has a degree of accuracy in my opinion. Democrats wielded the pandemic like a weapon and played that hand to the fullest. But Trump and his lack of management during the early pandemic days allowed it to have big results. Orange’s denials, lies, and misdirections were his undoing. If Trump better manages the pandemic response he would have won the presidency in November. But Flynn had already become damaged merchandise. He pledged agreement with Quanon last year and then after the election suggested that Orange suspend the constitution and take power through military means.
