Some will never get it, some of US more than aware / understand what it takes , how much $ does go in to doing this sport. especially all these long haul traveling teams. This sounds interesting and I might try Barbecueboy's recipe, but the problem is pike aren't too common down here in the south. My understanding is they are more of a cold water fish. So, I guess the "cherry piking" will be more for you northern guys.

Lol, nope I’ve drug a bunch of fish over the rail in my lifetime of living at or near the coast….never hooked a pike once.
