The release of Trump's tax records showed us something we all basically have known for a very very long time. People of wealth can afford to hire lawyers and accountants and know ways to exploit and play in the tax codes of this country.

Where common folks might do their own taxes, go to a prep service (HR Block), or use a neighborhood bookkeeper service, people of significant wealth have staffs of people and they have a pretty complete knowledge of what they are working in so they can find nuances. That's just the way it is. That's the way it is if you are liberal and rich, conservative and rich, or apolitical and rich.

Donald Trump is the first US citizen to ever have his tax records released to the general public by Congress. Think about that. The first. In a whole history of people that Congress has ever dealt with for various reasons over the years - spies, mobsters, other enemies of the state, they released Trump's tax records. This multi-year fight for what? What did they find? Nothing. Nothing but a rich guy who played by the rules, exploited loopholes, and maybe got a little dodgy here and there but really nothing.
