The 20 or so members of the stompy-feet coalition don't seem to have a plan. I'm not enamored with McCarthy but in absence of any rational plan or other viable person, they need to get this over with. Get over yourselves and move on. I don't see what the Trump (or Bannon) connection is in this matter. Trump has been on the McCarthy bandwagon from the beginning, as well as most from the right. Not too many people want an 18 hr/day job where you suck donors feet and kiss their @sses for most of that 18 hrs but McCarthy really does.
The new incoming Congress has some reason(s) to be peeved, especially at people like McConnell. The amount of spending rammed through by the last bunch is really questionable. McConnell never demanded any money to finish securing the failure at the southern border but completely rolled for anything and everything Ukraine. Trillions for the so-called infrastructure spending and what for the border? How about spending some of the Mitch controlled money on candidates in the election? I really think he wanted the Senate to a be a loss because he wanted to keep his fiefdom there intact. I think many view McCarthy as being rather close to McConnell so they have their doubts.
But, they don't have any kind of plan for an alternative. Absent that, they have to get over themselves and get this done. The problem is bigger than them, it is like.....dirt late model aerodynamics. The guy they will put in won't fix it, but they need a tech guy anyway.Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.Comment
