Part of me is surprised by the openness of it all but then again I think that's also part of the strategy.

      Change the baseline.

Nothing surprises me anymore. On either side. Its all %$#@’ed up and convoluted —- about to the point that unless someone on here posts something about politics, I don’t really look or read it anymore. My daughter is fairly left leaning and we don’t even talk about politics much anymore as she thinks it all crap anyway. Haha lol

The baseline of what people think is normal.

Do so much (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) out in the open and people get desensitized. Flood the mediascape and people eventually will think it's normal and they lose track of how far we have deviated from the center. It also creates the illusion to his supporters that it mustn't be corrupt because he does it out in the open.

I don't think politics itself is messed up. I think people in western, developed countries lose track of how good we have it and I think people fail to see the successes of governments and often hold an unrealistic view of what to expect.

I think we are in a bad period for politics and I think we're at a turning point. What lays for us in the future? I have no idea. What I do know is that social media and just media in general has gone too far. Constant fear mongering. Constant misinformation. Constant agendas. Fox News is the obvious example. Throw in a figure like Trump and you've got yourself a (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)show. Covid didn't help either.

I mean just look how conspiratorial everyone is. It's insane. A 2022 survey found that 12% of respondents thought the mood landing was fake and 17% were unsure. Anti-establishment and anti-intellectualism is running ripe at the moment because it's never been easier to spread bull(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) online.

                Nice Post Tyy7777 !!!!

Not knowing you personally, and going off of what little you’ve posted —-I would say you are more left of center than I am, and just the same, I’m more right of center than you are. I’ve tested out over the years to be a conservative libertarian from the tests I’ve taken. And I go with that, as it’s just about spot on. Yet, I’m not as conservative as the far right wingers like, as you mentioned, Fox newsers. Now with that out of the way for future reference.

                But —--

Like I’ve told ss12 and a few others on here, that doesn't mean we can't agree on common ground, middle of the road, common sense thinking —-- where our elected officials fail us greatly. Without going into detail regarding some parts of your post where I can use Left or Democrat examples, I’ll say grave mistakes are made on both sides, yet I agree in principle with what you have written.

Sorry, but what was I supposed to say? It seemed like a closing kind of message hence why I didn't respond. Do you want me to respond?
