I get it. You don't like immigrants. Maybe you're motives are pure idk. This seems like an issue I'll never be able to convince Trump supporters on so we'll leave it at this.
Not all illegal immigrants are good people. What I can tell you is that they pay taxes, to the sum of around 90B a year. They account for some 14% of all agricultural workers. I can tell you that they are also humans, families. They do not deserve to be treated like sh1t. They do not deserve to have basic services stripped from them. Healthcare SHOULD be a human right. Education benefits all.
The bigger issue is the current president being a child sex-offender, which weirdly no one wants to talk about.

Oh, so they were actually receiving benefits. I see.
Like in my state where they get Badger Care, and have for a long time.
Education yeah, like in my state where the school districts then have to start English as a second language programs and add costs to the taxpayers, and the bulk of those funds come from property tax payers in my state because that is where a big portion of school district funding comes from. Maybe you can shoot me a statistic on how many illegals in my area actually own property and pay property taxes because that would make me feel so much better about it. I'll save you some time. They are all living in rentals and in apartments or housing provided by the farm they work on. They are not property tax payers in my area.
Now I'm not going to dump on them all because I policed the area for many years and for the most part, most of them kept to themselves and minded their own business. The ones that did cause problems were dealt with accordingly (one was a murderer who raped and killed a woman and then tried to burn her up in a car, several OWIs, a few more sexual assaults, drug trafficking, etc.). One murder per year in my county is a pretty big deal so yeah, that was a big deal.
Just the other night I had a few beers and shot some pool with Juan, who is a farm foreman and crew leader for one of the large growers up the road. Really nice dude. I hope he's legal and doesn't meet with problems because he seems like a decent person.
Some things a lot of people do not realize about dealing with the farm labor. You are dealing with a cartel of sorts, almost like a dirty union. A friend of mine was a manager on a very large dairy operation down the road from me. One day there was a large rally scheduled in Madison by Voces De La Frontera and their entire work crew left the farm to go to the rally leaving the owner a few others to do the milking. Were talking nearly 1000 cows in an all day cycle. The next day when the crew returned they apologized and explained to the boss - if they wouldn't have gone to the rally, people were going to be sent to beat them up. How's that for some grass roots organizing? The rally got some good attendance and some great news coverage because of threat of force. I'll bet none of the advocates knew that.
Another day my friend asked me if I knew of the group of Asian prostitutes working in our county. I knew nothing about it. He explained when he got to work at the farm there was a van load of these hotties and they were helping the farm laborers spend some money. No kidding. His employer said, just let it go, it was all set up by the people who have their fingers in with the farm laborers. So yeah, human trafficking for sex intertwined with the farm labor. After leaving that farm, they went down the road to another, and another....
It ain't all some zero sum game. The last four years of throwing the border open made it much worse.

This is only referring to a few federally funded clinics such as Head Start, Emergency Medicaid and some other clinics. Head Start hasn't required proof of status for decades.Originally posted by Morgs153 View Post"Illegal immigrants are not receiving benefits."
Really?
20 states are suing the Trump admin to KEEP taxpayer-funded benefits for illegals They want illegals to get Head Start, healthcare, tuition, & more. But Democrats just spent months insisting illegals weren’t getting taxpayer funded benefits…
Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell sued the Trump admin. Monday (7/21) over a new policy meant to bar illegals from public safety net programs.
The Trump administration’s new policy restricts access to dozens federally funded programs that provide things like early childhood education, food and healthcare services for low-income families by requiring citizenship verification.
"All families, regardless of their citizenship, deserve access to a high-quality education, adequate healthcare, and community support,” said Campbell. “The Trump Administration’s abrupt policy change has created chaos and confusion and will limit resources not only for undocumented immigrants, but for lawful residents as well. We will continue to challenge this Administration’s cruel and illegal policies that harm our residents and our crucial state programs.”
Campbell joined 20 attorneys general in filing the lawsuit, including the attorneys general of Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. It was filed in federal court in Providence, Rhode Island.
So yes, they have already been getting these benefits, at our expense. My wife works in health care, she sees these people on an almost daily basis. If these benefits weren't already going to these illegals there would be no reason for this lawsuit.
Why should it? Illegal Immigrants contribute to the economy. Undocumented immigrant households paid $89B in taxes in 2023. They account for 5% of the labor force.
I think their kids ought to have access to at least some form of education and I think they ought to have at least some access to healthcare.

Your party shouldn't have abused the system by giving benefits to illegals (you deny that too). Had that not happened there may not have been a need for it to be cut!
Can you defend the PURE WASTE that DOGE has uncovered?
Since when do the uber rich get paid 'tips' and 'overtime'?
You do not know the end result of this so quit repeating what the crooks all repeat word for word on your TV.
How do you know what the uber rich pay in taxes? Your personal tax bill is not public knowledge, is it?
The pure waste? Like this?
NPR's Juana Summers talks with Sahil Lavingia, who worked for the Department of Government Efficiency as a software engineer assigned to the Department of Veterans Affairs, about his experience.
Wait till you find out how much Donalds golf trips cost!
How do I know about taxes? It's publicly available data. https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/f...tax-data-2025/

Well I'd argue that healthcare is a human right.
We are getting rid of that and adding stupid amounts of money to the deficit to fund tax cuts for the ultra wealthy.
Only Republicans could find that good.

The article states that Obama's tax hikes didn't really slow the economy. It also noted that the best periods of growth for the bottom 99% of people were after the Clinton tax hikes on the wealthy in the 90s and Obama's tax hikes on the wealthy in 2013.Originally posted by lurker View Post
I’m not so sure what your point is. Taxing or not taxing the top 1 to 3% of the rich, really doesn't affect them or the economy one way or another. That has been proven over the years, time and time again. I know that. But you're way smarter than me on stuff like this, almost like a financial political savant.
Here’s an Obama article from 2016 -
Study: Obama tax hikes on rich didn’t hurt economy, or rich - https://apnews.com/article/87553d69f3294e1fb3d0a5912f2e6e31
But again, what do I know, it’s probably a nothingburger article like I normally post…..
So taxing the wealthy doesn't slow the economy in any real way and it provides growth for the majority of Americans.
That's my point.
We're adding a stupid amount of money to the deficit all because republicans like giving money to the ultra rich. The top 1% pay 40% of federal income taxes. Slashing their taxes by this much is costing us a stupid amount of money. We are absolutely piling on the deficit just to give them a break. We know that tax hikes on them don't slow the economy. We also know that tax hikes on them help grow the bottom 99%.
Yet here we are. The so called party of fiscal responsibility. The so called party of working class Americans.
I don't want to get rhetorical but this is why I say MAGA is akin to a cult or at the very least it's one huge con. Their supporters lick the boots of billionaires and they don't realize it because they are so far in and they get told all the time that the Dems don't care about them. They need to open their eyes.
MAGA supporters were told that the Trump admin would reduce wasteful spending and would lower the debt. This bill ADDS to the deficit signficantly and most of that is attributed to tax cuts, which as you can primarily favor the rich.
To help pay for these wealthy tax cuts, they are slashing Medicaid (which they said they wouldn't touch), cutting SNAP, cutting renewable energy, cutting science and NASA spending....I could go on.
This goes against everything they stand for. Their supporters will never realize it though because Trump told them it's Biden's fault.
Wake up people.
