I’m getting so frustrated with the filters on Character.AI. Every time the story gets interesting or slightly spicy, the bot shuts down. Is there a platform that actually allows for unrestricted, mature roleplay?

I switched platforms for that exact reason. You should check out Try joii ai . It’s designed specifically for adults, so there are no heavy-handed filters blocking the chat. You can steer the narrative exactly where you want it to go, and the AI adapts really well to complex scenarios. It’s the most liberating experience I’ve found so far.
