Free loading immigrants are bad for the economy. I've asked before, what country could you or I go to and enter, legally or illegally, decide to stay past our welcome and then just decide to take up residence? What country would turn their back on their own laws and say - sure, not only can you stay but we'll give you a place to stay (housing assistance) and we'll give you health care, food assistance, and all other forms of welfare? Not only would they do that but they would make amends for you because you don't speak their language so they'd make signs for you and publish documents for you and make sure that the education they provide for you is all in your home language with no inclination to make you assimilate?

Here's something I find really funny. In Minnesota the anti-ICE groups are mobilizing and assembling borders and barricades in certain neighborhoods. Barricades and checkpoints made of of pallets with people demanding to see identification of those transiting in and out of their neighborhoods. Wow, what a concept! Actual borders! Show me your photo ID so I can verify you before you come into my anti-ICE neighborhood. The irony seems to be lost on the reporters going into those spaces because I have yet to hear one reporter ask the obvious questions. Something on the order of - Hey aren't you setting up borders and doing border enforcement for yourselves, but just on a micro-scale compared to the US government? A goose/gander or pot/kettle type question. It really does go to show the mental illness of some of those people and how easily they have been manipulated.

I have no problem with immigration. Legal immigration. I have no problem with legal pathways to citizenship. Legal pathways. I have no problem with guest-worker programs that use a verification process. My old job brought me into contact with a whole lot of legal and Illegal aliens through the years.

I see no real value to our nation and our nation's economy by bringing in so many people from Somalia. What is the value there when 70-80% of that group is on some public assistance? What is the value there when you bring in a people with such low IQ and the smarter ones of the lot are mostly of the pirate mentality? What is the value of bringing in so many Haitians? What is our responsibility there? What, because they had an earthquake almost a decade ago? Because they've never been able to get their own house in order for so many decades? Because the Clintons ran a grifting operation off an aid program to Haiti?

Immigration should be a value add to our nation, not a value drain. When you decide to import third world, you will become third world.

Which nation would simply throw open their border, let people in, then have them stay and set up a permanent quasi-citizenship with no accountability and then also provide all the resources for those people that we have?

It is interesting that you listed Poland. Poland and Hungary both have been criticized by the rest of the EU for not being open enough to immigration and being too nationalist. Poland protects their national interests.

Birth rates do matter. That is the big problem Europe made in the years after WW2. They embraced a soft socialism and provided for their people while they were under the protection umbrella of the US for so many years. Then they brought in immigrant labor to do those jobs they no longer wanted to do for themselves. But they never really embraced the concepts of assimilation and becoming part of the culture and society that they brought them into. Now look at the problems they face. The enclaves within their own cities where their own police don't go. The higher birth rates of the immigrants are taking over the countries. I would not want us to go down the road of Germany or Britain, or even some of the others.
