I don't remember a 15 car field P/S field. I remember 15 car fields in T/F last year. I can understand a team down on funding & not being in contention skipping the trip to the northwest. I know the cost of fielding a fuelcar is more than a gasoline powered car. It seems some local P/S team might enter the field to get some seat time & experience.

Your're right Doc, we only have dirt tracks right here in our area, but the locals normally join in when there's a pro race in the area. I don't know how high the NHRA fees are--that may be the problem.
