The Essential Encyclopaedic Guide to Modern Art

I was reading this book recently; actually I still am !
I found the contents to be very enlightening.
I worked for 10 years in a vinyl film design lab with/ for designers such as Evans & Brown whom also do murals.
I do not believe the floodwall in Portsmouth, Ohio near PRP is one of theirs but their designs come to mind when I study the intricate details.

I am stating this cause my involvement in & around motorsports has formed my opinion of ART.
I believe ART must represent or express an opinion whether that opinion is social / political.
A recent conversation with a person in a bar I attempted to convey the message that a welder does not an artist make but that the artist is expressing oneself & the only one that can accurately express oneself is oneself.
    Stolen designs are always inferior.
I may gamble that many of you feel the same way cause you recognize that the art logos you view regularly represent a company or culture.
I believe the Lucas Oil Series has it going on !!!
