Joe Gibbs Racing mechanic good Samaritan killed on I-4 near Lake Helen

A Texas man struck and killed on Interstate 4 near Lake Helen was a practice mechanic for Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross racer James "Bubba" Stewart, ESPN is reporting.
The 28-year-old Mark "Tex" Adams, from Carrollton, Texas, had stopped to help a woman who had run out of gas when he was hit Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to ESPN, the 25-year-old Stewart, an accomplished motocross racer who recently joined Joe Gibbs Racing, expressed his disbelief via Twitter concerning his mechanic's death.
FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said Adams had parked his pickup truck behind the SUV driven by Tiffany Walters, 23, of Winter Park about 4:20 a.m.
Adams exited his vehicle and was standing on the driver's side of Walters' vehicle, when another vehicle, driven by Glen Ross II, 32, of Orlando, and westbound in the right lane of I-4, drifted onto the right shoulder of the road, struck both vehicles and Adams, Montes said. It is not known why Ross drove onto the shoulder of the highway, Montes said.
The crash remains under investigation and alcohol tests are pending on Ross and Walters, Montes said. Charges are also pending on both, Montes said.
