Is it safe to leave my garage door cracked for a couple stray cats?

I have an overhead remote garage door, would it be ok to leave it up since the weather is freezing outside? Our city is known to have robberies, but If the door is cracked would this be ok?

You can lift them if you can get ahold of anything on it. Handle, lip, anything that can be gripped. They are easy to beak into, I keep mine locked up. The only option you may have is to look for a hole in the track or drill one to put a bolt or lock on it to keep somebody from opening it more, just remember to remove it before you hit the opener...

Don't forget, cats are not the only thing... Groundhogs, snakes, opossum, skunks... You may find a new friend you don't want.
