I am sure all of us feel the loss of Chris Economaki. I would like to join all others in motorsports in paying respect to this wonderful person. I didn't realize he was 91. He was respected in just about all circles of racing. Racing isn't just about racers, it takes people like Chris to make the sport great.

He helped bring most forms of racing to a level that without him could not have been obtained. Racing lost a true icon in Mr. Economaki!!! The knowledge, and an unmatched ability to emulate racing journalism this man contained is unprecedented!!! His legend will become more then synonyms with all the greatest voices racing has had or will have to offer...
Racing got lucky the day Chris Economaki emerged onto its scene!Scott Bloomchrist... The Lord, and Ruler of DIRT!!

I spoke with Chris several years ago before The Hoosier Hundred USAC Silver Crown Champ Car race at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Mile.
He was a really nice guy and was more than willing to talk some racin' with you.
When it came to racing he was always the smartest guy in the room.
RIP Chris, you will be missed and you're an icon of the sport, now and forever.Comment
