lol! Yea i hear ya! Man i've seen some wierd azz bugs back in the day,in south Texas workin' on a drillin' rig.The skeeters over in Louisianna would fly up and look you right in the eye,then poke their straw in your arm.You'd just have to wait til they fill-up or they'd call for back up.

Don't know how far north you live but occasionally visit the lovely country of Canada. It gets REAL cold up there and I have never seen more mosquitoes at one time. The cold temps obviously don't kill them off up there.
