    Daytona wreck

Kyle Larson gets airborne and almost gets through the catch fence injuring around 30 fans and some of them are in critical condition.

Carl Edwards gets airborne at Talledega several years ago and almost gets into the stands.

What do both crashes have in common.

Both crashes happened on the last lap and near the start finish line and were caused by BRAD KESELOWSKI punting the car in front of him

No both crashes were because daytona and talladega are about blocking not racing!!

Yeah, Keselowski was the one who was blocked in both cases. I don't put fault on him. Both Smith and Edwards moved in reaction to Keseslowki moving. I don't care for Brad, but at all, but not his fault either time.

The reason is the first statement. No one lifts coming to the checkers. If the crashes had occurred on any other lap, there would have been less cars involved probably nobody flying through the air because guys in the back would have been off the gas.

If there was no green, white checker finish this crash doesn't happen. Period.

Run the advertised distance and be done. If that involves races ending under yellow, then so be it. Ending under yellow is far, far better than what happened Saturday.

I agree, Remember they said the fans did not want to see the race end under yellow. I wonder if they might feel different now.

it was close to happening with 9 to go in the CUP race. Finally good 3 wide racing. But they called a caution and it put the field back in single file.

Is it me, or is the new car extremely easyy to drive. Robby Gordon is kicking himself!

That has its good and bad. bad thing is, even danica can wheel it. The good side is, doesnt take $$$ and testing to be a contender.. We will see I guess.

I think the next few weeks are really going to tell us more about this car.

Why doesn't anyone place the blame squarely where it belongs? NASCAR wasn't driving any of the cars. Nor were the track owners.... Gee, who does that leave? Hey, Regan Smith explained it the best...

nascar created this monster in plate racing, which has been trouble and most of the time follow the leader racing till it comes to last lap and it`s fair game, you got block,or whatever to try and give yourself a win. you cannot blame the drivers for trying to block for the win,the plates were inserted for the safety of the sport, but myself i think it made the racing more unsafe.

To say Brad K was to blame is just wrong he just happened to be the guy getting blocked smith could have held his line and they would have had a good safe finish. now on the track why the he11 is there a gate that close to the start finish line after all the cars that have gotten in to the fince at daytona and always on the front straight.

we all know that last caution was to settle the drivers down and some say to get jimmie/chevy the led. millions of people watch it but the same can be said for the WWE.

blame the big tracks where drivers cant afford to lift leading to guys getting ran over.

I guess that would be the restrictor plates because one cant pull away. If one cant pull away, one cant lift.

                            wasnt bk faults at all.

The cars are so safe the drivers don't spend much time worrying about getting hurt, but actions have consequences. I am not at all an open wheel fan, but don't they have a rule about blocking? And the gate was put there so the fans could get quick access to the pit area prior to and after the race. It was for fan involvement, kinda backfired on a few of them.
