There are good and bad unions. There are good and bad employers. The bottom line is the union is the only friend a working man has, that has any effect on government. Name another special interest group that even remotely aligns with your interests. Possibly the NRA for some, but that does not effect your wages.
In today's world government is bought and sold. The only person with out buying power is the unorganized labor. The Doctors Insurance, stock market, Bankers, Lawyers and Defense, just to name a few are all organized and have clout in Washington. Just who do you have?
You could say you have your vote. Most don't use their vote and anti labor groups pay for advertisement to convince you that all unions are thugs. It's kind of like when Bobby Knight was coach at Indiana. He was an A$$, but he was their A$$.
Some say the Union out lived it's usefulness. We have labor laws that they gave us. Do you think for one minute, we will continue to enjoy these labor laws, with out some group to fight to protect them?

If your working for a crook, and we all know there is nothing more crooked than the government, you may need a little bargaining power.Originally posted by LITE-INN View Postwhy does the govt have unions and why does some of these union thugs try to force companies to join there union
Unions always want all the labor to belong to the union. It increases their effectiveness. If they excluded someone, it would raise a red flag. If you go to work in a union shop and don't join, it's a lot like the cousin that comes to a family pot luck and never brings anything. Looking for a free ride.

Okay Slick, I am officially givng SOME unions due credit for the good work they are hopefully doing, BUTT! The large Unions are basically rotten to the core. Sorry for being totally critical when I should only be 98% critical!!!Originally posted by slick01 View PostHere we go again....you never give it a moments rest do you? Leave work issues to the citizens themselves instead of being coopted by King Richard Trumpka and goosesteppers. lolOriginally posted by Bubstr View PostThere are good and bad unions. But the Unions are living in the White House with their Furor! Trumpka brags about all of his visits.Originally posted by Bubstr View PostIf your working for a crook, and we all know there is nothing more crooked than the government, you may need a little bargaining power.

That sounds a lot like the battle cry of the anti-union interest groups. Divide and conquer. It's fine for Wall Street and even Small business groups to consolidate for lobbying and candidate support, but not for the working man. Organized employers is good. Organized Labor is bad. Do realize how silly that sounds? Do you realize how silly that is?Originally posted by Clayton_Wetter View PostLeave work issues to the citizens themsleves instead of being coopted by King Richard Trumpka and goosesteppers. lol
The thing is, it's hard for a man to vote against his own wallet, and that is what you are preaching. Employers don't do it, yet you think labor should.

Look, I don't have all the answers, but socialist unions in bed with a Progressives government and President stinks to high heaven, and that is the truth!! Plus large unions want as many immigrants as they can get to refortify unions and lower wages.Originally posted by Bubstr View PostThat sounds a lot like the battle cry of the anti-union interest groups. Wall Street and big business in bed with government is no better. It is not the unions that will bring in the new immigration bill. It does not benefit the unions to lower their memberships wages. This amnesty bill will be bi partisan if it gets passed and it won't be from union backing.Originally posted by Clayton_Wetter View PostLook, I don't have all the answers, but socialist unions in bed with a Progressives government and President stinks to high heaven, and that is the truth!! The next fib you are going to pass on is if republicans Don't vote for amnesty, they will never win another election. That well may be, but it won't be from illegals voting democrat, it will be from republican benefactors withdrawing contributions. If you don't do what the Boss man wants, you will hit the bricks. And the Boss man wants lower wages, not the Union.

Unions
Traditionally, the union movement strongly supported every legislative initiative in Congress to restrict immigration enforce existing immigration laws. Movement leaders knew that fluctuations in union membership were inversely related to prevailing immigration trends. Today, the AFL-CIO has turned its back on U.S. workers by endorsing illegal immigration & open borders.
