RIP "Wind Tunnel"
Well, Dave Despain's "Wind Tunnel" is officially history now. Dave took it for one last ride while ago. With the new fox sports 1 channel, taking off soon, I bet it's not gonna be a pleasant flight, for us fans of real racing. Thanks for the trip Dave, it was a hell'uva ride!!!

the worst thing to happen nascar didn't have full control of dave so he had to go. I like all types of motorsports and watched the show most every week to see the other forms of racing.the deal with fox is a killer just what we need another soccer and hockey channel. and nascar crap 4 times a day -

Dave had great interviews with Robin Miller, who I believe is the best motorsports journalist in the business today, and Jeff Gordon on the last show.
Dave also showed a picture of a young Jeff Gordon holding Kyle Larson who was a toddler at the time it was taken. Very cool picture that they both may very much cherish in the future.
I'll miss wind tunnel for maybe no other reason but that Despain was willing to laugh and make fun of people who called in making stupid, untrue statements about drivers and others they didn't like for one reason or another.
Hope maybe someone can get another show of a similar format together that will at least cover racing that isn't connected with NASCAR.Comment

Should give Robin Miller a show. Despain was about as boring as watching paint dry. I truly, honestly tried to watch that show on multiple occasions but it was like listening to those old DJs who give you the whole history of the band, the studio, the sound engineers and the names of each of their children before putting the song on. I can sum Wind Tunnel up in one word-tedious. Listening to Despain talk about anything was just tedious, tiresome and boring to me.Comment

Oh, I just remembered why Robin Miller should have his own show. It's because he hates NASCAR and loves Indy Cars and short track open wheel racing more than anything else that races on dirt, especially USAC Silver Crown, wingless 410ci sprints and midgets.
Those reasons alone should get him a gig on prime time ABC, CBS or NBC.Comment

Guess I'll have to call TWC and cancel Speed, beings that we now have FS1. What another useless channel. Speed was becoming useless with dumb shows and NASCAR crap, now just worse. Dave Despain was cool, as is Robin Miller. Real racing journalists, not NASCAR hype machines. Wind Tunnel had some good people, oh well I suppose.
