The Tea Party IS the infiltration by capitalists and big business into the Republican party. The game when you start to lose the popular vote is to keep enough traction to stave off change for as long as possible.

If you are steaming along, taking ground, kicking butt and taking names and its all going your way, you keep going. When you finally run out of steam and forward progress stops, you do whatever it takes to keep from losing ground and getting pushed backwards.

Republicans are no longer in favor, their "trickle down" theory is bust, it's over. The nation sees the playing field is tilted in favor of the wealthy, tax code lets the wealthy pay less, corporate welfare subsidizes and funds projects that help the wealthy get wealthier, the whole game is played by the rich for the rich and middle America by electing Obama sent a clear message that we weren't going to let it continue.

Don't forget that if Obama got his way, the wealthy would be paying a lot more in taxes, the stimulus would have been more, Obamacare would not exist but Single payer would be the law of the land, etc. NONE of this favors the RICH.

So saying both parties are owned by wealthy elites is partially true, but not all wealthy elites see things the same way. Some see their mission is to get and keep as much as they can and stomp on everyone else, however others do not see that as good for them or America.

If you look at what Obama would have done left to his own agenda completely, we would have a far different country 5 years in than we have. He has been stopped on just about every front by wealthy elites protecting their own interests, mainly through the Tea Party in the House.

So I do not agree that a vote for a Dem or a Republican is a vote for someone bought and paid for by wealthy America. Sure, it takes money to get elected, but Obama had more grass roots $50 donors to get him in office than he did corporate backers. He has, however, been stopped by corporate America through their astroturf Tea Party crap that has hoodwinked many Americans into supporting what is not in their interests.

I just see the Tea Party as a great foil to what middle America wants and would get if not for the Tea Party in the House stalling and sabotaging every move to reign in the power and influence of corporate America and the wealthy elites.

I think money influences both sides, but the Republicans court it way more than the Dems, and most Dem policies do NOT advance the agenda of corporate America. So its hard to make a case that Obama is beholden to big money, when a lot of what he would do if he could does not favor the status quo.

I can't make excuses for the democrats. When the ACA and stimulus took place they had control of both houses and the presidency. There was nothing standing in their way to follow any agenda they felt like. They chose to turn ACA into an elite insurance money maker. They chose to direct stimulus threw corporate avenues, be it green or infrastructure improvements. A simple tax refund would have been much more effective. If they had bailed out the home owners instead of the banks, both houses and banks would have been saved for the same price. Really should they have spent all that bail out and stimulus money in the way they did, for the results they got? They talked about restructuring the tax code but it was all talk. They talk about taxing the rich, but taxed the middle class. They just need to fix the tax code to tax everyone on all income at the same rate. Now they are talking about Amnesty which only benefits the law breaker and corporate America that loves cheap and abundant labor. Obama also talked about removing all this campaign money out of politics his first election, just talk. Him and the democrats gathered in more than the republicans last election and some of them contributors contributed to both sides. Don't tell me what they say, show me what they do. The shrinking middle class can't spend excuses. Not to mention, he was going to end the wars and reduce military and discretionary spending on these. Corporate War America needs this spending. It goes back and forth as to which party is more evil over the years, but we know this, the lesser of two evils is still evil. Done with rant.

Now that is funny right there. The tea party does not support any political party but, yet run under the Republican banner. Lol. If that is truly the case then why don't they run as a third party?

There is no Democrat party anymore. and only half a Republican party.
