"Once again gullible black people spurred to new depths of ignorance miss what is being perpetrated upon them by race-mongers and the media. One lie we are to believe is that rap and hip-hop is music that identifies the culture of blacks. What it identifies is rage, misogyny, self-contempt, drugs, alcohol, rape, killing, and venality that is without bounds. What struck me about last night's Country Music Award show was that there were no gang fights, no east coast gonna' kill west coast, no gratuitous vulgarity, no women in g-strings, and no men walking around with chains hanging from their necks with their pants pulled down. There were no shootings and no threats. I happen to like country western music, personally and find it refreshing that those associated with same as a whole are among the most patriotic of Americans. Rappers and hip-hoppers could take a lesson in propriety and citizenship from country western performers. One last thought. It is also interesting that when the music attributed as that from blacks was Earl "Father" Hines, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughn, Louie Armstrong, The Supremes, Temptations, etc. there were no east coast and west coast music wars. And there certainly wasn't the level of drugs, guns, and violence in the urban enclaves as there is today. Someone should ask why a people are so eager to known for being the worst society has to offer?" - Mychal Massi
